Boston Pacific urges the Mississippi Public Service Commission to require cost caps if it moves forward on a 582 Megawatt IGCC plant in Kemper County. Boston Pacific was hired by the Commission to provide cost-benefit analysis on the Kemper County plant and compare Kemper to third-party sources.

New Jersey Board of Public Utilities approves 2010 Auction results. For the past four years, Boston Pacific has monitored the New Jersey Basic Generation Service  auction on behalf of the Board. For the second year in a row, the state has seen a decrease in projected rates.

Allegheny Power completed its fifth Auction to secure post-2010 electricity supply for its Pennsylvania territory. Boston Pacific has monitored all five of these procurements on behalf of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.

Delaware completes its 2009-2010 SOS procurement process. As the technical consultant for the Delaware Commission, Boston Pacific advised the Commission to approve the results, which will lead to a decrease in rates for Delaware consumers.

Boston Pacific is one of the DOE’s approved Market and Financial Advisors to evaluate energy projects seeking loan guarantees from the DOE. One such project, the Kahuku Wind Project in Oahu, Hawaii, recently received a $117 Million conditional commitment from the DOE. Boston Pacific acted as the Market and Financial Advisor for this project.

The British Columbia Utilities Commission ruled that the line to Alberta be limited to 480 MW. As an expert witness for TransCanada, Boston Pacific had recommended the capacity be limited due to transmission constraints in Alberta.

 


 

TransCanada announces that the Open Season for its two 3,000 MW DC transmission lines will start on October 13, 2009. Boston Pacific is the Independent Evaluator for this process.
