Boston Pacific's Community Commitment
Boston Pacific Scholarships Boston Pacific is proud to sponsor scholarships at two local high schools. Since 1991, we have participated in The Scholarship Fund of Alexandria, which awards scholarships to college-bound seniors of T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria, Virginia. In 1996, we established a scholarship for a college- or trade-school-bound senior at Theodore Roosevelt High School in the District of Columbia. Each Boston Pacific scholarship is awarded to a student who has demonstrated personal courage in overcoming obstacles in his or her own life, in helping others to do so, or in defending a principle in which he or she believes. U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon Boston Pacific was a proud sponsor of the New York Institute of Technology’s (NYIT) “Green Machine/Blue Space” entry in the U.S. DOE Solar Decathlon, an international competition to design, build, and operate a solar-powered, energy efficient house. NYIT was the only participant to use a regenerative hydrogen fuel cell energy storage system, a competitive advantage that sparked Boston Pacific’s interest in the project. NYIT took 5th place among the 18 finalist universities that constructed their houses on the National Mall in Washington, DC in Fall 2005. |
